June Budget
1 // J Crew Top - $25 (love, but order a size down)
2 // Birkenstocks = $100
3 // Sneakers - $55
4 // J Crew Jeans - gift
5 // J Crew Sweater - gift
Tis the month of semi-ridiculous shoe purchases! I've wanted both for a while, and finally took the plunge. The sneakers were a souvenir from my recent trip to Chicago. I love getting specific pieces when I travel - they remind me of where I've been, but are more useful things to pickup then a snow globe or yet another tote bag...
Those new balances are awesome. I'm the same way now. I'd much rather have something that I can wear more often and always remind me of an awesome trip than some nick-knack to sit around and collect dust. Those gizahs will be your favorites for real. They're not as ridiculous as you think they are.
ReplyDeleteIt took me a few wears to get used to having a disco ball on my feet, but now I'm totally obsessed!
DeleteI'm totally with you on picking up useful items instead of knick knacks when I travel. Not only do you get to add items to your wardrobe that spur on pleasant memories when you wear them, you'll also have something that's a little different than what everyone else is buying from the mall in your area :)
ReplyDeleteExactly!!
DeleteI totally agree, a new piece to add to your wardrobe is a lovely travel souvenir. Although, I like the knickknacks too! (I do tend to go with kitchen items, so at least they're a bit more useful than a snow globe!)

I'm a big knick knack lover as well - buying something useful in every city is another favorite souvenir of mine. I got a chicken salt cellar in Vienna that's still one of my most beloved possessions!
DeleteThose New Balances are so fun! I agree, some souvenirs are just clutter. Buying something useful is much better!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for souvenirs! I might steal that from you. I also picked up sneakers (2 pairs!) this month. They're just so practical.
ReplyDeleteFashion souvenirs for the win! New Balances are awesome. I have reached an age where I have no patience for uncomfortable shoes, so I love a chic sneaker that is like a work of art on your foot!
ReplyDeleteWearable souvenirs are the best! The embroidery on the blue top is pretty.
