Current Makeup Routine

As any of my friends can tell you, my makeup collection is, in a word, extensive.  I love trolling the CVS beauty aisle, and I enjoy experimenting with different products.  In terms of actually putting on my makeup day to day, however, I'm painfully predictable.  My current beauty routine only switches up a little day to day, but it works and it only takes about 10 uninterrupted minutes (20 if you're trying to get the puppy to not eat everything that isn't hers).

Step 1 // Skin

Either the Covergirl Ready Set Foundation or the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation.  There's no real rhyme or reason to which one I go with - they're both beautiful and work really well with my skin.  Applied with the Real Techniques Foundation or Buffing brush (the foundation brush is for higher coverage).

Step 2 // Blush

This changes daily, but the Josie Maran blush in Vacay Rose and the Revlon Cream Blushes in pink and apricot are the three most used (the Revlon blushes are unlabeled, but there the only cream blushes Revlon sells, soooo).  I prefer cream blush to powder, I think it looks more natural

Step 3 // Brows

The most recent addition to my routine would be filling in my brows. I use the Anastasia Brow Whiz to fill things in, then the Benefit Brow Gel to set everything and make it all look cohesive

Step 4 // Eyes

The vast majority of the time, I tightline my eyes with Benefits Bulletproof liner, then apply two coats of L'Oreal's Butterfly Intenza (my holy grail mascara).  On some days, I use the Tarte eye primer and the Urban Decay On the Run palette to make myself look slightly fancier, or switch it up and use the Stile eyeliner, which is actually a burgundy color.

Step 5 // Lips

Usually, a quick swipe of Chapstick (the candy cane flavor is AMAZING) is all I can be bothered with, though I occasionally go with something more interesting, almost invariably in a shade of rosy pink.  The one time I tried a bold color, my entire family hated it and I never went back (looking at you, Christmas 2014)

And that's it!  Quick and easy, but polished enough that I'm never self-conscious about what I look like at work.  I think it's important for me, as the youngest person on my staff, to look put-together without being flashy or attention-grabbing. I don't ever feel like I NEED makeup, but the few minutes in the morning I take to do it always feels like a bit of a treat to myself, and I think that looking my best makes me do my best throughout the day (that and coffee).
